Born and raised in Germany and then moving to Paris in 1978, Matthias first worked for the Michel Glotz Agency, where he was in charge of artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Yo Yo Ma, Nelson Freire, Natalia Gutman, Oleg Kagan, Janet Baker, Régine Crespin, Serge Baudo, James Conlon, and others.
In 1989 he returned to Germany and destablished his own agency, Konzertagentur Matthias Vogt, based in Munich. While building his reputation, he managed artists such as Cecilia Bartoli, June Anderson, Malin Hartelius, and Sinfonia Varsovia under the direction of late Yehudi Menuhin.
In 1997, Matthias moved his office to San Francisco from where he operated under the name of Matthias Vogt Artists Management, working, a.o. for François Le Roux, John Axelrod, Daniel Hope, Martin Haselböck and the Philharmonia Quartet Berlin.
Matthias now enjoys life from his new home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he arrived in April 2007. His activities in arts management have been greatly reduced, now servicing pending contracts, doing counseling and devoting most of his time to the few and exquisit artists who would not let him go....see our website at www.matthiasvogt.com.
Matthias takes this opportunity to thank very much indeed all of the many artists who have been working with him in the past and still will do so in the future, the lovely colleagues and promoters he had the privilege to meet in this wonderful world of music.
Time has come that a new generation of managers has to take over, but please do know that Matthias very cordially invites you to visit him in beautiful Puerto Vallarta where the sun shines all year round.
